What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform audits and coding of patient charts, ensuring accurate documentation of diagnoses and care plans
- Utilize computerized coding/abstracting equipment in compliance with coding guidelines
- Assist field staff and leadership with OASIS, HOPE, and ICD-10 queries
- Review daily reports to ensure processing of all records
- Consult with field clinical staff regarding ICD codes and sequencing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- Minimum of two years' experience in a relevant field
- Certification in OASIS or Home Care Coding Specialist (various certifications accepted)
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and data entry
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical staff
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with home health coding and compliance
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Additional certifications in coding or clinical specialties
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and coding standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
