Job Description
- Req#: req14729
- Performs routine laboratory tests including preparing cell culture, subcloning, and measuring protein and mRNA levels using established protocols.
- Operates, maintains and troubleshoots scientific apparatuses, equipment and instruments including cell culture hood, incubators, western blot apparatus and RT-PCR instrument.
- Collects research data and organizes lab notes. Compiles and analyzes data and reports to the PI.
- Orders and maintains necessary lab supplies and reagents for experiments.
- Ability to perform biochemistry and molecular biology protocols.
- Ability to organize research lab notes.
- Ability to analyze research results.
- Ability to report results to the PI and in the laboratory meetings.
- Knowledge of general biology and neurobiology.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required.

A Research Technician II position is immediately open in the lab of Dr. Haining Zhu in the College of Pharmacy. The candidate is expected to carry out research projects studying RNA binding proteins and RNA metabolism in human health. This position will primarily carry out experimental protocols established in the laboratory.
