What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform core actuarial consulting work, focusing primarily on reserving engagements
- Develop predictive models and evaluate clients' reserving and modeling methods
- Analyze data using programming languages such as R and SQL
- Draft written reports and prepare internal/external correspondence
- Collaborate with actuaries and principals on various projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Completed bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or other quantitative major
- Must have passed five actuarial exams (P, FM, MAS-I, MAS-II, and Exam 5) at the time of application
- 5 to 10 years of professional actuarial experience with significant reserving and predictive modeling experience
- Strong knowledge of actuarial methodologies and familiarity with advanced techniques
- Proficient technical and programming skills in R (preferred), SAS, SQL, or other programming languages
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- ACAS credential and at least 5 years of professional experience
- Experience in a commercial insurance or reinsurance environment
- Familiarity with advanced predictive modeling techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts
