  SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Are you interested in making a foundational contribution to the cloud footprint of an organization that makes daily, meaningful contributions to children’s health? The Enterprise Cloud team at CCHMC is seeking a cloud engineer with a focus on Azure services and Terraform automation. The individual will work directly with our project stakeholders to implement their requirements, and within the Cloud team to define and develop automation and integration frameworks across the CCHMC footprint.
  This role will bring substantial value to the hospital, and interact with multiple teams in the Information Systems, Clinical, and Research divisions. Within the last year, the team has helped projects automate on-demand genomics pipelines, establish a cardiology data common, built virtual situation rooms for community health leaders in anticipation of the next pandemic, helped establish analysis workflows for precision dosing of next generation drugs, and enabled AI/ML driven clinical analysis, among other projects.
  
  REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
  - Cloud Infrastructure
  Assist with all cloud environments, supporting the change and working towards the adoption and ease of use of cloud technologies. Perform application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment. Understand cloud architecture across diverse areas including application development, identity and access management, network management, storage and data access management and cloud security. Support solutions architecture for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and other cloud services. Develop knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, containerization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
  - Analysis
  Analyze, design, implement, and maintain moderately complex systems that greatly improves clinical care and patient management. Plan and conduct system testing. Document testing outcomes. Develop technical designs and build tools to automate repetitive tasks to minimize errors and prevent downtime. Design, write, and prepare complete user and technical documentation. Analyze existing documentation and provide corrections and enhancement. Utilizes Development lifecycle process, operating procedures and documentation to implement and support system solutions.
  - Technical Support
  Provide technical support and third-level problem resolution assistance for production and process issues. Troubleshoot and decipher error messages. Identify required resources to resolve minor to large issues. Utilizes appropriate Change Control methods to implement system solutions. Proactive in the identification of potential issues and conceptualizing solutions. Advance projects to decrease downtime and system issues. Train teammates in evaluating and monitoring system performance and functionality to avoid potential issues as well as gathering information for future development needs or feasibility studies. Participate in on-call support rotation and handle incident resolution, problem determination and resolution during that time.
  - Professional Development
  Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross-training, literature and attendance at department meetings and vendor education. Develop and maintain positive relationships, both internal and external to CCHMC. Motivate people and encourage teamwork. Work well with others and fosters a positive team environment. Prepare oral and written presentations. Conduct and participate in instructional seminars. Develop expertise in several Cincinnati Children's computer-based systems. Perform other duties as assigned.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  Required:
  ·Bachelor's degree in a related field
  · 5 - 7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
  
  Preferred:
  · 3+ years of work experience managing production workloads in Azure
  ·Thorough understanding of the foundational Azure infrastructure services and their use cases
  ·2+ years of work experience developing solutions using Infrastructure as Code frameworks (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Cloudformation)
  ·Thorough understanding and application of web services, networking, and identity/access management
  ·Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools
  ·Solid understand of Information Security concepts and methodologies
