  Experience & Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or MACC a plus)
  • Active CPA certification (required)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, and experience in a retail automotive controller role preferred
  • Deep understanding of dealership accounting, financial operations, and internal controls
  • Expert-level proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficient with Tekion and Microsoft Excel
  • Proven success leading accounting teams in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment
  • Demonstrated experience as a Change Agent, driving process improvements, system upgrades, and operational transformation
  • Proven ability to serve as a Financial Facilitator, partnering with operational leaders to guide decision-making, budgeting, and profitability

  Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead all dealership accounting functions, technical accounting functions, internal financial reporting, external financial reporting, and several direct reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP and Manufacturer requirements
  • Partner with CFO, Owners, Store Directors, and department leaders to support operational and financial goals
  • Support and develop a team of accounting managers and staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment
  • Oversee cash flow, bank reconciliations, floor plan management, and overall treasury functions
  • Maintain robust internal controls across all locations to ensure accuracy and safeguard company assets
  • Support audit preparation, tax filings, and compliance-related activities
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and reduce closing timelines
  • Leverage Tekion for reporting, integration, and optimization of financial operations

  • Competitive Compensation: $175,000 – $225,000 with the opportunity to add incentives
