What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Maintain software and DBMS environments in compliance with the STIG and/or the SRG, including applying security patches and maintaining documentation
- Ensure adherence to departmental SOPs by completing work according to documented procedures
- Install, customize, upgrade, and maintain Database Management Systems (DBMS) software on mainframe platforms running z/OS
- Analyze outages and provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports, leading mitigation efforts with a team
- Use SMP/E to install and manage software as a lead technician within the IBM SMP/E environment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must have an active Secret Clearance
- Minimum certification: One of the IAT Level 1 certifications (A+CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP)
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining DBMS and software environments
- Proficient understanding of the IBM SMP/E environment
- Ability to document and report on technical processes and changes
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with database migrations and application software upgrades
- Familiarity with government contracting processes and regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical teams
- Knowledge of security compliance frameworks such as STIG and SRG
