What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collect, process, and analyze spatial data in both vector and raster formats
- Develop metadata in FGDC and ISO formats
- Serve as administrator and content creator for ESRI Portal/Enterprise/AGOL systems
- Provide technical assistance to clients and facilitate data needs with government agencies and commercial entities
- Troubleshoot data and workflow issues, ensuring quality control and compliance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- US citizen with the ability to pass a background check for federal government contractor credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, physical or natural science, geography, computer science, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of experience using Esri ArcGIS for data management and analysis
- At least one year of experience using Esri Portal/Enterprise/AGOL
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in GIS, marine, or environmental sciences
- Professional certification in Geographic Information Systems, such as GISP
- Three or more years of experience applying GIS to natural resource management
- Experience with Python or other GIS coding languages
- Strong technical writing skills and experience in metadata creation and maintenance
