- Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions or payroll updates including employee changes, salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions and payroll calculations
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Participate in audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll HRIS software, systems, and procedures, as necessary
- Facilitate year-end W2 reporting, federal, and state tax filings
- Generate reports on a regular or on demand basis to support payroll processing and other requirements associated with quarter or year-end
- Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues, as necessary
- Process special payments in accordance with company programs
- Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries
- Collaborate with HR Operations on employee data management, compliance initiatives, reporting, and process improvements
- Provides cross-functional support across HR Operations as needed to support business needs
- May mentor and assist lower-level Payroll staff
- Other tasks and projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years payroll processing experience required, including multi-state payroll processing
- Strong knowledge and understanding of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll tax law
- Experience with UKG Pro payroll software is a plus
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
- Understanding and proficiency with Microsoft Office, payroll system(s), and database software
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to stay organized, multi-task, and meet deadlines

Position Summary :
This position is responsible for leading all components of the payroll process and maintaining day-to-day payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
As part of the HR Operations team, this position partners closely with HR and Finance to support day-to-day operational processes. The Senior Payroll Specialist must demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative mindset to assist with broader HR Operations initiatives and priorities as business needs evolve.
