      As the local, on property sales contact for customers, the Senior Sales Executive is responsible for proactively soliciting and managing catering-related opportunities, special segment groups (Sports & Entertainment) along with total account management of existing account portfolio. Their focus is to build long term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel goals. They strive to achieves personal and team related smart goals and are understand how to support Marriott’s Service and Relationship Strategy. One of their other key focuses is to drive customer loyalty and grow market share by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

      CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

      • Account Management: Create sales strategy for account penetration and document strategy through Strategic Account Plans.
      • Executes Sales Strategy to achieve goal for hotel.
      • Partners with Event Management and Operations in providing a customer experience that exceeds the customer’s expectations.
      • Manages relationships with multiple contacts in assigned market accounts.
      • Proactively identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
      • Develops contracts and correspondence, manages opportunity details and proactively develops customer solutions.
      • Understands the overall market: Competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
      • Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
      • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
      • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. document in account management tool.
      • Utilizes Marriott Global Source for resources and information (Training Energizers, segment websites, etc.).
      • Effectively manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
      • Focuses on catering lead conversion.
      • Effectively use sales resources and administrative/support staff.
      • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a continuing relationship and loyalty to Marriott.
      • Gains understanding of the hotel’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event.

      OTHER

      • A full-time, onsite-based role, at London Marriott Canary Wharf Hotel & Executive Apartments
      • Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
      • Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited policies and procedures.
      • Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than 40 hours per week.

      SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

      Leadership

      Good decision-making skills, planning and driving sales initiatives, supporting goals of the team and the hotel targets, supporting the team engagement and retention.

      Communication & Interpersonal skills

      High standard of written and verbal English is essential with the ability to build long lasting relationships with clients. The ability to build strong relationships with peers, associates, leaders in the hotel and wider Marriott network. In addition, supporting on collaboration with Operations teams on executing Marriott Customer Service Standards and Marriott Brand Standards.

      Sales & Events Skills

      Understanding of sales and events systems and processes, good problem-solving skills and proactive in finding solutions

      Sales Segmentation

      A good understanding of key sales segments including groups and catering.

      Reporting Skills

      Analyze and interpret market, business and economic trends on accounts or segments.

      Financial & Legal Understanding

      Understanding how to interpret P&L and revenue management analysis.

      Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Previous proactive/ re-active sales experience in 4/5-star hotel.
      • Marriott sales experience is desirable but not essential.
      • Previous experience of the Catering Segment.
