- Manage development team(s)
- Maintain accountability for product quality and delivery
- Use modern techniques and frameworks for frontend web development
- Develop using modern standards, including strict mode compliance, modularization techniques and tools, and frameworks and libraries
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs
- Work in team environments that use agile methodologies
- Use version control systems
- Ensure Section 508 Compliance
- Quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques
- Use and work with open source solutions and community
- Create views and templates in full-stack frameworks
- Perform web development using open-source web programming languages
- Author developer-friendly documentation
- Perform test-driven development
- Use relational and non-relational database systems
- Design and implement scalable search technology
- Handle large data sets and scaling their handling and storage
- Communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- A Bachelors Degree in an IT-related field
- 10+ years of professional experience leading technical teams
- Ability to obtain a position of public trust with the Federal Government
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- The Ideal candidate has the following technologies experience and expertise:
- Development framework and IDE: Spring, Java 11, Angular, Bootstrap, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, SQL Developer
- Object-relational mapping & persistence framework: Hibernate
- Access control, security, & identification management: Oracle DB using Spring security/OKTA/Kerberos
- Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL): Java program & stored procedures
- App server and logging: JBoss EAP Wildfly 7.x: Splunk, Instana
- Tools and Libraries: Gitlab, Apache Maven, Nexus
- Continuous integration tool: Jenkins, Gitlab
- Database: Oracle RDBMS
- Search engine: Alfresco/Solr 4.2
Overview
Steampunk is seeking Software Architects / Team Leads with experience in managing teams of software developers and other technical staff to deliver high quality products and services that meet or exceed customer requirements. Demonstrated expertise in leading large development efforts. Strong background in the development and deployment of enterprise application development products. Experience using modern, frontend web development tools, techniques, and methods for the creation and deployment of user-facing interfaces. Experience in using modern, open source software to prototype and deploy backend web applications, including all aspects of server-side processing, data storage, and integration with frontend development. Hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions with cloud orchestration tools. Strong working knowledge of cloud architectures across various types (private, public and community), layers (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers. Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery/deployment (CD) methodologies and technologies such as Jenkins and Gitlab.
