- To proactively deliver, develop and evaluate specialist clinical pharmacy services to theatres, anaesthetics and radiology areas.
- To support the theatres medicines governance agenda, taking a lead on investigations and action planning as appropriate to mitigate medicines related risk.
- To provide leadership, management and specialty/service support roles
- To participate in the specialist clinical pharmacist service to Adult Critical Care areas and Enhanced Postoperative Care areas (EPOC)
- To take full part in the critical care weekend, bank holiday rotas and general pharmacy back-up duties
- Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council
- Diploma/MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent qualification or experience
- BPharm/BSc (Pharmacy) or MPharm
- Evidence of related postgraduate qualification

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Theatre and Critical Care pharmacist at NUH due to the promotion of the current post holder. The role, established over 10 years ago involves covering a wide range of surgical specialities across both sites. The Theatre pharmacist leads a dynamic pharmacy team who are integral to efficient service support; the team have developed excellent multidisciplinary working relationships within the department, which enables the team to work innovatively, assist with problem solving and implementation of service improvement initiatives. As theatres is a very dynamic area that is always reacting to internal and external pressures this can often mean no day is ever the same and the work is always interesting and varied .
The clinical commitment of this post provides an exciting opportunity to develop your critical care skills; joining our friendly and well integrated critical care pharmacy team delivering 7 day clinical pharmacy services to adult critical care. Full training will be provided. Whilst we welcome applications from pharmacist whom already hold the prescribing qualification we would also be keen to support the right person through the process of becoming a prescriber.
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively and positively influence the multi-disciplinary team. An enquiring mind and the ability to proactively problem solve is key to this rewarding role.
