Job Title: Sr. Admission Counselor Salary/Grade: Unclassified
Job Summary: Regional Enrollment and Admissions: The Senior Admission Counselor serves a vital role in the success of enrollment management by identifying and engaging prospective students, executing strategies, and managing the achievement of entering student enrollment goals. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admission Recruitment, the Senior Admission Counselor will manage an assigned recruitment territory for Miami University Regionals, the regional system of Miami University, a highly regarded public university with a national reputation.
Duties/Physical Demands: The Senior Admission Counselor will:
•Establish and administer programs for recruiting transfer students primarily in Ohio to achieve prospect and incoming student goals through use of research, historical and current admission data, and CRM tools; identify and initiate activity to increase prospective student leads, applications, and conversion rates to achieve goals.
•Initiate and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, community colleges, and partners in assigned territory utilizing specific knowledge gained of admission and academic options, pre-advising and transfer credit evaluations, student supports and student life, and financial aid and/or scholarship information and deadlines.
•Develop, coordinate, and deliver outreach programs virtually and in-person, including community workshops, presentations, information sessions, and virtual campus tours for prospective students, parents, businesses, organizations, service organizations, career fairs, conferences, and schools; participate in employment and college fairs; answer questions regarding the admission process and the University.
•Effectively execute weekly telemarketing campaigns. Make calls/texts/emails to prospective students; generate, receive and respond to various prospective student correspondence; respond to inquiries regarding financial aid, admission process, and related matters; enter prospective student contact results into CRM.
•Coordinate additional assigned projects as deemed appropriate by Admission Leadership.Minimum Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in student recruiting, advising or sales and marketing.
Desired Qualifications: Consideration may be given to candidates with:
•Excellent relationship building skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, organization and planning skills
•Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently and as part of a team.
•Appreciation for working with diverse populations.
•Ability to lift 30-40 lbs of recruiting materials
•Ability to travel to various locations throughout Ohio and work evenings and weekends as needed.
