- Responsible for building and administering our MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Build tools to monitor performance, capacity, cost, and availability of our data systems.
- Implement sharding, clustering, and partitioning strategies to facilitate scaling and improve performance.
- Create partnerships with our Data Science, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams to enable their roadmaps and solve technical challenges.
- Maintain data integrity and quality through highly available cloud infrastructure and database backup and restore procedures.
- Manage data migrations between non-production environments.
- Continually improve the architecture of production systems and the database developer experience.
- Assist with data modeling and data structure design.
- Implement and manage the security of our databases and corresponding data.
- Implement automation for Database and Infrastructure deployment.
- 7+ years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience working in a high-growth tech start-up.
- Expert in performance tuning and optimization of MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL/Aurora databases.
- Expert in SQL and Query writing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Terraform Cloud and managing database engines through Terraform code.
- Experience with Debezium and PGbouncer is a plus.
- Experience with Database Datadog integrations applied through Terraform.
- Experience with Cloud technology, preferably with AWS.
- Python programming experience is a plus. All schema changes are made through a tool written in Python that this engineer will own.
- Experience with implementing business continuity and disaster recovery programs.

The engineer will be responsible for the availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance of our data environment and supporting infrastructure. Data is at the heart of our business and this role will enable our Compliance, Data Science, and Product Engineering teams to deliver and operate a world-class SportsBook and iCasino. The Engineer will be an expert technologist with experience in database administration, high availability, AWS infrastructure, writing self-service automation, and operational excellence.
