The Staff Development/Infection Preventionist is responsible for the development and implementation of on-going educational programs for the Nursing Department at Acacia Health Center. As Infection Preventionist, collects and analyzes data, maintains infection control practices and reporting of infections as well as maintaining Antibiotic Stewardship practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Current Arizona RN license required. Two years of training and development experience in long term care required, wound certification preferred.
2. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
3. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematical skills required.
4. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to understand, follow and support established policies and procedures of the facility; ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately; ability to plan, organize and prioritize assignments efficiently; ability to work effectively with minimum supervision; ability to adapt teaching to the situation and diversity of learners.
5. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Current CPR certification. Computer literacy encouraged. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Leadership and teaching skills required. Understanding and empathy of the uniqueness of the needs of the elderly required.
