      Position Specific Summary

      Environmental exposures affect public health, but contaminants and pollution are not always well
      understood or measured. In our research group, the Laboratory for Environmental Assessment and Population Health (www.leaph.info), we seek to understand the contribution of environmental
      exposures to public health. For this research opportunity, we aim to bring together diverse datasets and develop a new approach for understanding the relationships between environmental exposures and novel health outcomes.

      This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of environmental health, data analysis, and epidemiology. Interested students will receive mentoring, training, and guidance from a team with expertise in environmental epidemiology and health.

      The research assistant will primarily assist the team in:
      - Reviewing and synthesizing the literature existing on novel scientific questions
      - Assisting with data collection, coding, entry, cleaning
      - Contributing to research group administration

      Responsibilities may also include:
      - Reviewing scientific literature and creating summary reports
      - Creating data visualizations such as tables, graphs, and figures
      - Collaborating and managing relationships with external partners

      Standard Position Description

      The student will perform basic administrative and research tasks under the guidance of a faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: assisting with experiments, coding, data entry, and data cleaning, preparing research/documents for articles, reports, and/or presentations. Students may also help provide information for literature reviews, draft summaries, and create graphs and figures. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.

      Required Qualifications

      This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided (Students working in an instructional capacity should be very familiar with the subject area in which they are working).
