What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and review utility substation drawings, including General Arrangements and AC/DC schematics
- Make design recommendations and modifications for utility substations
- Perform calculations and quality control reviews of design calculations
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers and coordinate project phases
- Conduct field investigations and observations as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
- 4 years of engineering experience required
- Prior experience with physical design or protection and control design of electrical power substations
- Ability to perform AC & DC substation studies
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- PE License preferred; ability to obtain within 1 year
- Experience using ground grid modeling software
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
- Proven experience with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
