POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Managing student learning, in the absence of the regular teacher in accordance with the goals and directives of the school.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

• Maintains a positive learning environment for all students and a professional relationship with all staff in accordance with school policy.

• Ensures adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.

• Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

• Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree is required.

• Candidate must hold a valid Arizona Substitute Certificate or Arizona Teaching Certificate

• IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
