      Job Description Summary:

      The Tax Information Reporting Policy Manager will be the primary tax technical point of contact for the Information Reporting Operations function with respect to tax form (W-9, W-8, and Self-Certification) validation, tax reporting, and remediation initiatives for all products, processes, and procedures related to US Forms 1099, FATCA, and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).

      The successful candidate will be able to work with cross-functional partners to support operations teams and deliver on key initiatives related to audit, controversy, process re-engineering, new product builds, and subsequent due diligence requirements for reporting across domestic and global information reporting regimes.

      Responsibilities:

      • Internal policy adviser for customer information reporting due diligence, global reporting, and withholding requirements.

      • Establish and maintain reference documentation and guidelines for Information Reporting Operations, including training and support designed to mitigate risk and focus on customer experience.

      • Advise on development of process and procedures for new products that give rise to 1099, FATCA, CRS, and other information reporting.

      • Assist senior members of Tax Policy with IRS audits. Liaise with Information Reporting Operations to ensure complete and accurate data analysis.

      • Identify areas where existing processes require revision with an emphasis on reduction of manual process through automation to streamline FATCA, CRS, and other US information reporting.

      • Lead special projects and remediation aimed at improving data quality across product and functions related to customer due diligence and reporting.

      • Maintain highly effective partnerships with impacted business areas and related processes.

      • Effectively assess external customer and internally directed complaints and inquiries for potential compliance impacts and work with the appropriate Compliance contacts, customer response teams, and/or line of business associates to identify regulatory issues and help businesses resolve customer concerns.

      Qualifications

      • BS/BA from an accredited institution; JD highly preferred.

      • 10 years' experience with IRS rules, regulations, and guidance relating to all types of US and global information reporting and/or withholding regimes.

      • Proven experience using data to inform decision making.

      • Strong project management skills.

      • Analytical, verbal, and written communications skills.

      • Ability to work and communicate well with various levels of management (including senior and executive management) and high-ranking IRS officials.

      • Proficiency with Excel, OneSource, TaxPort preferred.
