- Set goals and expectations: Translate overall business objectives into clear, defined goals for the team. This includes setting deadlines and communicating performance expectations.
- Plan and organize: Develop a strategy and workflow for achieving the team's objectives. This involves creating schedules, delegating tasks based on individual strengths, and providing the necessary resources.
- Monitor and report progress: Oversee the day-to-day operations and track the team's progress toward its goals. A team leader often reports key performance metrics to upper management.
- Coach and mentor: Serve as a mentor by training new team members and providing ongoing guidance to help employees develop new skills and grow professionally.
- Manage performance: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address underperformance. They also recognize and reward high-performing team members.
- Resolve conflicts: Act as a point of contact for team members, mediating and resolving any interpersonal conflicts or issues that arise.
- Communicate effectively: Maintain an open line of communication within the team and with senior management. This includes conveying important updates, policy changes, and goals clearly and inspiring confidence.

Overview

Total Cleaning provides complete managed facility services including daily and weekly cleaning for facilities including: hospitals, medical facilities, schools, office buildings, commercial warehouse spaces, and Home Owner’s Associations. Job Skills / Requirements
We are looking for a dedicated, client focused and passionate about delivering exceptional quality. The team lead role will supervise and coordinate activities of a team of Cleaning Specialists engaged in cleaning and maintaining diverse facility. You will be working under the direction of the Area Manager.
This person will be guiding, managing, and motivating a group of employees to achieve specific goals and objectives. An effective team leader combines strategic planning with strong interpersonal and coaching skills to foster a productive and positive work environment.Primary roles and responsibilities

Education and Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of janitorial supervision experience.
• Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with different levels of internal and external customers.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong problem-solving, follow up, and ability to make swift, sound judgements.
• Strong attention to detail and results oriented.
Other Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Attention to detail – meticulous
• Ability to read & follow schedules.
• Must be physically dexterous as there is lifting, bending and stooping involved.
