Responsibilities
The EKG technician works collaboratively with RTs and other health care staff to ensure timely and accurate cardiac testing while providing compassinate patient care.EKG technician is responsible for performing electrocardiograms, assisting stress tests and other related cardiac diagnostic procedures. Duties include preparing patients for procedures, accurately placing electrodes, operating EKG machines and ensure quality tracing for interpretation.Additional responsibilities include: Mornitoring and recognizing commom abnormal cardiac rhythms, maintaining and cleaning EKG equipment, ensuring accurate patient identification and documentation, responding promptly to STAT calls and urgent situations. Perform 12-lead EKGs and rhythm strip as ordered. Assist different kind of strest test. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the test and properly placing electrodes. Monitor and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms and report critical findings promptly. Maintain, clean and troubleshoot EKG equipment. Ensure proper documentation in EMR. Maintain adequate inventory supplies. Follow infection control, safety and hospital policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma,
EKG training certificate
BCLS (AHA) MAB

Greater El Monte Community Hospital is a 11o-bed acutecare facility. We offer a full range of services including ICU, MST, ER, Sub- Acute and Operation Room, we are also in the process of building a psychiatric unit, which is expected to be operational in 2026 to better meet the growing needs of our community. Our primary focus is to serve the patients by ensuring high-quality, safe and patient-centered care.
