What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Determine eligibility of incoming commercial insurance submissions
- Use underwriting tools and historical reports to make sound underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with senior underwriters to maintain a profitable book of business
- Review motor vehicle records and determine eligibility for drivers
- Document underwriting decisions and revise ratings as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Home state Property & Casualty insurance license preferred
- Minimum of two years of insurance account administration experience with commercial auto and package business
- Proven knowledge of insurance underwriting, particularly in commercial auto and package risks
- Associate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Insurance industry educational certification(s)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in underwriting for business auto and other commercial package lines
- Strong judgment and hands-on coverage experience
- Ability to work towards a loss ratio lower than 40%
