Job Description:
This Legal Assistant role with Job Duck offers the opportunity to provide essential support that enhances attorney efficiency and overall workflow. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, detail-oriented environment where accuracy, organization, and clear communication directly support strong legal outcomes.
Each day, you will help prepare immigration case filings, maintain digital documentation, and ensure that critical deadlines are met while working closely with the supervising attorney. You will excel in this role if you are proactive, calm under pressure, adaptable to changing case priorities, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a fully digital legal practice.
Salary Range: 1,150 USD to 1,220 USD
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Adapt to a changing case mix as the practice transitions from asylum work toward additional focus areas
• Gather, review, and organize evidence and supporting documents
• Assist with preparation of immigration forms including I-589, I-130, and I-485
• Prepare complete digital filing packages with proper labeling, merging, and bookmarking
• Support compilation of immigration documentation, exhibits, and case preparation materials
• Assist with general legal support tasks similar to those performed by existing staff
• Support daily legal administrative tasks delegated by the supervising attorney
• Maintain a professional and empathetic tone in all client interactions
• Communicate with clients regarding case updates and missing information
• Submit filings through ECAS and maintain accurate digital records of submissions
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of filing deadlines
