      JOB SUMMARY:

      The Vice President of Finance implements and maintains a system of strategic control with emphasis on using financial information diagnostically to access the performance of marking, operating, technical, human resources and financial strategies. Administers the property stewardship function with accountability as the chief financial officer and member of the regional senior management team. Oversees the Facilities operation.

      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

      • Develops increased awareness among regional/property management of the issues confronting us, research solutions and formulate the key decisions for achieving a strategic vs. a tactical force.
      • Creates systems by which we develop enhanced and sound understanding of evolving regional competitive forces and guest priorities and then creates the channels to satisfy these needs.
      • Formulates and gains management team support for a focused, cooperative strategy for property growth.
      • Develops organizational capability (experience and design) in order to execute strategy successfully and establishes a leadership position to effectively evaluate strategic plans, while maintain the integrity of decisions and results, both internally and externally.
      • Participates as a member of the senior regional Management Team, in the continuing formulation of a strategic vision for the regions as a whole, as well as for each property operation.
      • Assess competitive trends; evaluates the impact on established regional goals and financial objectives, and implements corresponding plans. Assesses guest channels to citify these needs profitably.
      • Establishes, implements and monitors the necessary management and internal controls required to safeguard company assets and maintain integrity of information and operations.
      • Develops systems that monitor and control progress of key strategic decisions used to allocate property recourse for continued growth and identifies opportunities to eliminate resource under utilization. Plans, coordinates, through subordinates the properties Finance, Strategic Planning, Accounting, Treasury, Material Management, Project Development, Capital, Regulatory and Information Services.
      • Actively participates in the establishment of overall property polices and procedures while providing support to direct report team as a group leader.
      • Prepares and submits energy management, preventative maintenance and capital expenditure requests to management for approval as related to routine operations of facility, boiler plants, etc.
      • Ensures compliance with all safety standard codes.
      • Acts as role model and always encourages others to do the same. Must be able to adhere to the attendance guidelines of the job and to regulatory and departmental policies.

      QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of a four-year college degree; degree in accounting, MBA or CPA preferred. A broad knowledge of casino and hotel internal and accounting controls, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements is desirable. Must have excellent organization, communication, accounting background with experience in hotel/casino finance related position at a managerial level is preferred. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

      PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must have strong people management skills, with very strong analytical skills. Must have the ability to guide others to work independently in an unstructured environment. Must have excellent problem solving skills. Must have strong project management skills. Must be able to maneuver around office, effectively work at desk and respond to written and aural cues. Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment. Must be self-motivated and able to handle more than one function at a time. Must be well organized. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

      Harrah’s New Orleans Casino & Hotel will soon open the opulent and indulgent luxury of Caesars with a $325 million dollar expansion to transform our award-winning property into Caesars New Orleans.
