      Purpose of Role

      Responsible for supporting the creation of compelling, high-quality video content that elevates Finance of America’s brand visibility, engages target audiences, and enhances overall storytelling efforts. Serves as a foundational contributor to the video team, ensuring that raw footage is transformed into polished, professional content that aligns with strategic marketing objectives.

      Key Responsibilities and Expectations

      • Assists in editing short-form and long-form video content for various platforms (YouTube, social media, internal communications, streaming video ads, etc.).
      • Cuts raw footage, assemble scenes, and refine sequences with pacing, transitions, and music.
      • Incorporates basic graphics, titles, lower thirds, and animations using Adobe After Effects or similar tools.
      • Collaborates with senior editors, producers, and creative teams to understand project goals and meet deadlines.
      • Ensures all video materials are on-brand, audience-focused, and aligned with business goals while maintaining a high level of creativity and storytelling impact.
      • Maintains an organized file structure for video projects, including backups and version control.
      • Stays up-to-date on video trends, cutting-edge software, AI technologies, B-roll libraries, audio solutions, and industry best practices.
      • Works with internal stakeholders, including Brand and Strategy, Lead Acquisition, Internal Communications, and Marketing teams, to repurpose and optimize existing video content for ads, social media, and other distribution channels.
      • Collaborates with the Marketing Project Manager on the management and organization of the company’s central video asset library (Box, Vimeo, etc), ensuring proper file naming, storage structures, and metadata organization for long-term accessibility.
      • Stays abreast of emerging video technologies, trends, and techniques to ensure the team remains at the forefront of video innovation.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies

      • Minimum 1 year of experience in video editing, professional or academic/internship.
      • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and basic knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, or similar tools.
      • Understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
      • Familiarity with social media content formats (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to take direction and apply feedback.
      • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
      • Experience with video content optimization for various platforms (social media, advertising, internal communications, etc.).
      • Strong organizational skills, with experience in asset management and digital library organization.
      • Familiarity with AI-based video editing and production tools (e.g. Runway, Descript) is a plus.
      • Experience in the mortgage, finance, or related industry is a plus.

      Qualifications - Education - Required

      • High School Diploma or GED

      Qualifications - Education - Preferred

      • Degree or certification in Film, Video Production or related area.

      Compensation

      The base salary range for this position is ($55,000 - $70,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer. We offer a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time-off benefits, flexible spending account, 401(k) with employer match, and ESPP.
