What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide administrative support for team meetings and mentor newly hired administrative specialists
- Maintain office equipment and assist with procurement and receiving shipments
- Support fiscal auditing and human resources functions, including onboarding and offboarding
- Facilitate contracts with internal and external contractors and provide communication support
- Act as the safety coordinator for the Southern Piedmont AREC
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in administrative or business management, accounting, or a related field; or equivalent education and work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams
- Willingness to learn Virginia Tech proprietary software/databases within six months of the start date
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, accounting, or a related field
- Demonstrated skills in financial data management, administrative office management, or accounting
- Training or experience in image/video editing software
