      About Us

Cambium is a growth stage start-up using technology to make it easy to access material we normally waste, turning salvaged lumber into Carbon Smart Wood™. We recently closed a $18.5M Series A funding round to make it easier to buy, sell, and move fiber across the supply chain. In addition to being named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2024, we serve clients like Amazon, Equinox, Room & Board, and other leading brands in the construction, design, and furniture industries. It's an exciting time of growth for Cambium, and we're looking for ambitious, energetic people to join our mission.

      About This Role

As Bookkeeper & Financial Operations Specialist at Cambium Carbon, you will own the core financial processes that keep our business running smoothly, from day-to-day bookkeeping and reconciliations to COGS tracking and spend oversight across complex multi-entity operations. You will bring precision to our books, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and support both revenue recognition and AP/AR workflows. This role is ideal for a CPA with a sharp eye for detail, experience in high-growth environments, and a passion for building clean and scalable financial systems. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and ClickUp is strongly preferred as we continue to scale a mission-driven company with operational excellence.

      What You'll Do Here
      1. Own day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online with precision and consistency, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
      2. Lead the monthly close process, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and key accruals.
      3. Track and manage COGS across projects and revenue lines, maintaining historical accuracy and margin visibility.
      4. Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts, including revenue from our fintech platform.
      5. Manage Accounts Payable and vendor relationships via Bill.com, including timely bill entry and payment processing.
      6. Handle Accounts Receivable, monitor aging, and support proactive collections.
      7. Track project-based spend and support cross-functional reporting for major initiatives.
      8. Drive financial process improvements using tools like ClickUp, and support operational efficiency across finance ops.
Your Skill Sets and Capabilities Include
      1. CPA certification (active or inactive, but must have held a license).
      2. 6+ years of experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting operations.
      3. Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and Accounting Standards Codification (ASC).
      4. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Excel, and Google Sheets.
      5. Proven experience with COGS tracking, AP/AR, and multi-entity reconciliations.
      6. A track-first mentality, focused on capturing accurate, timely financial data.
      7. Highly detail-oriented, methodical, and self-motivated.
      8. Comfortable using AI tools to optimize workflows.
