What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review charge documents for accuracy and coordinate with front office staff on billing issues
- Enter charges into the practice management system
- Balance Charge Summary to tickets keyed before finalizing charges
- Extract information from medical records and other documents to ensure completeness
- Assist in identifying quality issues with registration and scheduling activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of coding, billing, and/or charge entry experience in the healthcare field
- Candidates must be Texas residents
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is highly preferred
- Familiarity with third-party billing requirements and payment policies is preferred
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification from AAPC is ideal but not required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a healthcare setting related to coding or billing
- Additional certifications in medical coding or billing
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in practice management software
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
