What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure charges are coded accurately from the medical record and entered into the billing system
- Code medical records for surgical practices utilizing ICD-9/ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 coding conventions
- Assign specified codes to medical diagnoses and coding for specific clinical procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coding accuracy
- Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
- Certification as a CPC or CCS-P required
- Three (3) years of experience in production coding in Outpatient and Inpatient OB/GYN environments required
- Strong understanding of coding conventions and guidelines
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding tasks
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in outpatient professional fee revenue cycle management
