What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the assigned underwriting team and enforce corporate and regional underwriting guidelines
- Implement effective underwriting practices and strategies to address profit challenges
- Provide guidance on complex situations, agency relationships, and communication strategies
- Coordinate with underwriters and management in the agency planning and review processes
- Develop and foster agency relationships while monitoring team performance and workload
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of six years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of underwriting and risk analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to groups
- Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designation(s)
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media
