What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise the assigned underwriting team and enforce established guidelines and procedures
- Implement strategies to address challenges to profit and drive success throughout the underwriting unit
- Coordinate with underwriters, marketing, and branch management to enhance agency planning and review processes
- Develop and foster agency relationships to grow profitable business opportunities
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and assist with succession planning within the team
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of six years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- Excellent knowledge of underwriting and risk analysis
- Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designations
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media
- Exceptional customer service skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
