What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform comprehensive audits of care center locations/divisions to ensure compliance with evaluation and management service levels and documentation accuracy
- Communicate audit findings and corrective action plans to care center locations/divisions and leadership
- Prepare concise and timely executive summaries of audit findings and coordinate provider education sessions
- Collaborate with the Compliance/Legal Department on reportable findings that may expose the employer to risk
- Provide feedback on policy revisions, education opportunities, and documentation system enhancements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential with a minimum of three years of medical coding experience in the area of specialty
- Must maintain a valid and current coding certification
- OB/GYN experience and additional certifications such as Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) or Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Coder (COBGC) are beneficial
- Experience in surgical coding is a plus
- Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration, or a related field
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in OB/GYN medical coding or auditing
- Additional nursing degree or certification in a related field
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements
