What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage an assigned caseload of disability claims for Short Term and Long Term Disability
- Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information
- Render benefit determinations and provide superior customer service within expected timeframes
- Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients and management as needed
- Collaborate effectively within a team setting to ensure seamless claims transitions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
- Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to independently manage claims and apply clinical guidance as needed
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in TPA or self-administration services
- Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims
- Aptitude for learning medical terminology and interpreting regulations
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and web-based systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
