What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for changes to AAR Interchange Rules, Standards, and/or Specifications
- Compile descriptive and inferential statistics for AAR Technical Committees
- Conduct quarterly price surveys and update car and locomotive repair price formulas
- Communicate information and concepts through data visualization tools
- Collaborate closely with senior economists and technical standards committee managers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree in data science, economics, mathematics, engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Programming experience with SAS, Python, or similar statistical software
- Demonstrated experience in data mining and analysis
- Ability to manage large and complex data sets from diverse sources
- Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of railroad operations and maintenance, AAR Car Repair Billing, and AAR Interchange Rules
- Bachelor's degree in data science, engineering, mathematics, economics, or business
- Eight or more years of experience in data mining and analysis
- Understanding of the AAR Committee process
