What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and evaluate moderately complex water reclamation permit applications and reports
- Perform complex environmental calculations and provide technical guidance for compliance with environmental laws
- Assist in preparing environmental guidance documents and lead projects under the direction of management
- Respond to customer inquiries professionally and provide compliance assistance to various stakeholders
- Review technical documents for permits and adherence to Surface Water rules and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, biology, earth science, or an equivalent science discipline
- Level 2 (grade 21): 2-5 years of environmental experience; Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
- Level 3 (grade 22): 5 or more years of environmental experience; Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
- Knowledge of the federal Clean Water Act and AZPDES regulations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Professional in Training Certification or equivalent through the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice (IPEP) or an equivalent
