What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and maintain project plans in accordance with client standards and provide weekly status reports
- Manage and support the centralized database environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Interact with developers and end users to understand applications and resolve issues
- Execute national production applications within a complex Microsoft NT operating system environment
- Participate in disaster recovery drills and contingency planning for database environments
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in production environments
- Proficiency in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, including T-SQL, SSMS, and maintenance plans
- Strong understanding of database recovery models and hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups
- Experience with performance troubleshooting and tuning, including identifying deadlocks and slow-running queries
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Exposure to cloud-based database solutions, such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or MCSE: Data Management and Analytics
- Basic PowerShell scripting experience for SQL and system task automation
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for SQL deployments and version control for database objects
