      The Opportunity

      Ally’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) team is a highly specialized group within the B ank dedicated to positively impacting communities across our assessment area through CRA-qualifying loans, investments , and service s . All FDIC-insured banks are required to comply with the CRA . However, at Ally , CRA is not just a regulatory requirement; rather, it is a passion shared by the CRA team in manag ing a $ 5 + billion portfolio of loans and investments that finance affordable housing, community services, economic development, and neighborhood revitalization.

      The Manager CRA Loan Portfolio Management will assist in the ongoing management of the CRA loan portfolio through proactive monitoring and oversight . The Manager will be responsible for the periodic preparation of credit scorecards to ensure consistent and accurate measurement of credit exposure. This role includes client interaction, managing portfolio risk, and adhering to policy and regulatory guidelines . The ideal candidate will combine strong financial analysis skills with in-depth knowledge of commercial credit portfolio manag e ment .

      The Work Itself

      • Manage the ongoing administration of a diverse portfolio of loans to borrowers , including financial intermediaries, focused on affordable housing , economic development, community services, and neighborhood revitalization , ensuring compliance with reporting, funding, and risk rating requirements in accordance with the bank’s CRA Procedures .
      • Establish and maintain a clean and reliable portfolio management program , working directly with clients to obtain required reporting timely . P rovide ongoing review s and reporting of credit quality, changes in risk, and compliance with loan covenants in accordance with the bank’s CRA Procedures. Conduct loan monitoring and asset quality assessments; prepare reports on portfolio performance for senior management.
      • Proactively manage credit risk and exposure for assigned portfolio, monitor collateral, initiate changes in risk ratings and ensure any modifications of loan terms or covenants are captured accurate ly on the bank’s loan servicing platform .
      • Monitor upcoming loan maturities and provide support, as needed, in underwriting and due diligence process for loan renewal s , including but not limited to , requesting necessary financial information and generating approval memorandums for temporary extensions.
      • Escalate and provide solutions for problem loans in partnership with other teams and specialists .
      • Oversee and process loan advance s , including construction loan draw requests, review and ensure accurate and timely application of loan payments, including payoffs along with satisfactory completion of corresponding legal documentation including lien releases.
      • Keep track of project timelines, delays, and proactively monitor construction portfolio to ensure satisfactory project progression.
      • Build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with external customers and counterparties .
      • P articipate in Ally Bank’s community outreach programs, including volunteer and leadership opportunities with non-profit organizations, to contribute to the Bank’s CD service hour requirements
      • Support and prepare materials related to internal meetings, CRA activities , etc.
      • R epresent Ally Bank at industry and trade association groups , requiring occasional travel
      • Other duties, as assigned, in support of the bank’s CRA program and portfolio management activities

      The Skills You Bring

      Minimum Qualifications

      • 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
      • High school Diploma or GED equivalent

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in business or related major
      • 5 + years of banking, investment, ris k, compliance, or CRA experience
      • Deep understanding of credit/financial analysis, portfolio management and risk assessment
      • Experience with managing or monitoring a loan portfolio, including risk ratings and covenant compliance
      • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and other MS Office software
      • SharePoint / MS Teams experience preferred
      • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through , and keen attention to detail
      • Thorough investigative and problem-solving skills and meticulous record keeping skills
      • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively on project teams
      • Strong sense of community and desire to be part of a giving-back culture

      Base Pay Range : $90000 - $150000 USD
