What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor and coordinate administrative processes for managing MEDC-specific programs
- Review programmatic documents for completeness and compliance with statutory and policy requirements
- Prepare and review briefing memos and pre-approval letters for project stakeholders
- Conduct technical assistance visits with companies and local units of government
- Compile reports and prepare recommendations for approval by the Michigan Strategic Fund Board
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business administration or a related field
- Minimum of two to four years of related experience in economic development, contract administration, or government administration
- Experience with program/project underwriting and knowledge of contracts and property law
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and calendaring software
- Experience administering community development grant programs or similar programs
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience with MEDC's Community Development programs
- Experience with federal grant or award administration
- Knowledge of compliance activities and verification processes
- Familiarity with business development grant programs, loan programs, or tax credit programs
- Experience managing construction projects
