What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party carriers in a timely and accurate manner
- Research and apply new and changing regulations to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliance
- Educate hospital personnel on regulations and requirements impacting billing and reimbursement
- Conduct comprehensive follow-up with payers for timely reimbursements
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare or accounting setting, or completion of medical coding and/or billing courses
- 3-5 years of related experience in healthcare or accounting preferred
- 1-3 years of direct experience involving claims, insurance, or patient accounting preferred
- Must be available for scheduled work shifts from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
