What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the primary payroll contact for assigned nonprofit clients, ensuring exceptional client service
- Process payroll cycles with accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain payroll records, including employee changes, benefit deductions, and grant allocations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and recommend solutions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Four-year degree in Business Administration or a similar field with a major in accounting
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an accountant in a nonprofit setting
- Strong knowledge of Fund Accounting Software products, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP Run, ADP Workforce Now, or Paycom
- Ability to generate and interpret payroll reports for audits, grant compliance, and management review
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CPA certification preferred, but not required
- Experience managing large payrolls (1,000-2,000+ employees) and multiple company payrolls within a single organization
- Strong grasp of data privacy and security protocols in handling sensitive payroll information
