What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Teach courses within the Education Specialist program and provide effective feedback to students
- Evaluate and assess student performance through videorecorded teaching demonstrations
- Collaborate with course leads and identify at-risk students to provide necessary support
- Adhere to deadlines for grading, assessments, and student evaluations
- Maintain professional training and scholarly activities relevant to the discipline
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree or higher in special education or a related field
- Valid and clear California education specialist or special education teaching credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- 5+ years of experience teaching students with disabilities in a California public school setting, grades TK-22
- Proficiency in common internet tools like Zoom
- Current knowledge of special education, diversity, and instructional design
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- College-level or field teaching experience
- Experience teaching adult learners
- K-22 experience includes academic classroom settings with a range of disabilities
- Experience with co-teaching and explicit systematic instruction
- Experience in a range of settings across least restrictive environment
