**What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
- Stay updated with technical advancements and drive system architecture and software development processes
- Lead and mentor teams in the implementation of complex systems, promoting technical excellence and innovation
- Engage in prototyping, researching, and coding scalable, consumer-facing systems
- Collaborate with business and product teams to achieve long-term business objectives
- Participate in code reviews and operational discussions to maintain high development standards
**What is Required (Qualifications):**
- Minimum of 12+ years of software engineering experience in building highly available systems
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Java
- Experience in data engineering and managing large datasets
- Proven track record of building successful software systems from inception to deployment
**How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):**
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related area with at least 3 years of experience in software engineering
- Experience with GenAI technologies such as LLMs and cloud-based AI platforms like GCP Vertex AI or Azure
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on balancing long-term design considerations with immediate implications
- Proven experience in mentoring and coaching engineers in technical problem-solving and career development
