What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate and triage referrals created by and sent to the practice via LifeChart workques
- Schedule appointments with specialists and testing per physician request, ensuring proper insurance authorization
- Maintain communication with patients, providing them with appointment details and specific instructions
- Act as a resource to practice team members regarding referral issues and participate in quality improvement activities
- Scan and organize correspondence related to patient referrals and ensure it is correctly labeled and forwarded
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of clinical referral experience
- Strong customer service focus and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Organized with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Knowledge of billing, medical terminology, and insurer referral authorization requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a Patient Centered Medical Home Practice (PCMH) setting
- Familiarity with data entry and computer systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of front office operations and clinical triaging
