SUMMARY: The Trauma Nurse Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate quality assurance/improvement activities, from pre-hospital care through discharge and rehabilitation. The Trauma Nurse Coordinator’s role is structured to facilitate interaction with all units and disciplines involved with trauma care. This position is filled by a registered nurse whom, assists the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Medical Director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the trauma program. This position monitors and measures the quality and timeless of care provided by physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers for injured patients throughout the continuum of care. The Trauma Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and on-going evaluation of the Trauma Injury Prevention Program at Baxter Regional medical Center. Must be competent in a wide variety of nursing skills. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the hospital.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required, BSN preferred.
Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN license in good standing.
Experience: Minimum of one year RN experience required. Prefer Emergency, OR, or trauma related experience.
Certifications: BLS required, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required within one year of hire date. Will train in a variety of Trauma required courses within 2 years.
Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required.Safety Sensitive Designation:
This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure
