What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and timely
- Review health insurance explanations of benefits to ensure correct payment application
- Resolve discrepancies and balance daily postings according to established guidelines
- Analyze payer reimbursements to ensure adherence to contract fee schedules
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient accounts by following established HIPAA guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a business office is helpful
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to perform cash applications and reconcile discrepancies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- College coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare or finance-related position
