What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee and manage responses to security breaches, including identification, triage, and categorization of incidents
- Develop and implement security incident response plans (SIRPs) and recovery strategies
- Conduct in-depth investigations of security incidents and communicate findings with university management
- Analyze security logs and network traffic to identify indicators of compromise (IOC) and malicious activity
- Lead post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement and maintain detailed documentation of incidents
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in key Cyber Defense areas (e.g., incident response, security monitoring)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge of digital forensics and incident response (DFIR)
- Significant experience in SOC analysis or incident response capacity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 7 years of related experience in cybersecurity
- Bachelor's degree in information science, computer science, or related field
- Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM
- Experience with SaaS incident investigation (e.g., GSuite, O365)
- Familiarity with endpoint protection platforms (e.g., EDR)
