      Position Title: Senior Developer

      Salary: $138,861.00 - $156,300.00 per year

      Summary of Duties: Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) and Extract-Load-Transform (ELT) data pipelines that integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources including Veeva Clinical Vault APIs, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake cloud data warehouse, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) servers, and additional external and internal platforms. Architect robust automated workflows are designed for streamlined data ingestion, comprehensive data transformation, and real-time analytical processing, ensuring peak system performance, scalability, and reliability. Design, build, and continuously enhance proprietary enterprise-wide frameworks specifically tailored for PPD’s internal operational and analytical requirements. Develop and maintain enterprise data like frameworks enabling efficient extraction, transformation and integration of data from specialized clinical APIs, particularly Veeva Clinical Vault, supporting critical business intelligence activities. Ensure all frameworks meet stringent reliability, security, scalability, and regulatory compliance requirements (FDA, GDPR, HIPAA) enabling advanced, real-time decision-making capabilities across global operations. Apply specialized expertise in direct API integration techniques to extract data accurately and efficiently from clinical platforms. Implement robust API governance practices, comprehensive authentication protocols, systematic error-handling mechanisms, and proactive performance optimizations to ensure uninterrupted and secure data flows. Develop, implement and maintain rigorous data governance policies, security standards, controlled access mechanisms, and compliance frameworks to safeguard sensitive clinical trial, operational, and financial data. Ensure strict adherence to internal data security policies and external regulatory standards (e.g. FDA guidelines, GDPR, HIPAA) establish trust and reliability in data operations across the enterprise. Closely collaborate with global cross-functional teams to architect, implement, and maintain data infrastructures. Continuously refine and automate data warehousing processes and regulatory reporting workflows to boost efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness. Provide strategic technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior developers, engineers, and analysts, fostering skill development, knowledge transfer, and adherence to best practices. Engage proactively with global stakeholders to accurately capture, interpret, and translate complex business requirements into robust, actionable technical solutions, ensuring complete alignment with enterprise-level strategic goals. Rapidly diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues related to complex data pipelines, system integrations, API-based processes, and overall system performance, ensuring minimal operational downtime. Continually research, identify, and apply cutting-edge technologies, best practices, and performance enhancements to existing systems and processes, driving sustained improvement in system functionality, security, efficiency, and scalability. Duties may be performed remotely.

      Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior ETL Developer, Software Developer, or related role involving clinical trial data programming. Must have five (5) years of experience with the following: Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured healthcare and clinical datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and traceability; Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines to support the ingestion, transformation, and integration of clinical trial data from diverse sources such as EDC systems, labs, and wearable devices; Data engineering; Data integration; Cloud computing; Regulatory-compliant data operations; API integrations; Data warehousing; Leverage modern data engineering tools and frameworks including Apache Spark, Airflow, DBT, AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks to improve performance and automation; and Programming languages and data tools including Python, SQL, and Talend.
