What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the development and implementation of intelligent transportation and tolling systems solutions for key projects
- Coordinate technical activities related to project development, ensuring alignment with program objectives
- Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules; manage consultants and project teams for successful project delivery
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to various stakeholders, including the Board of Directors and community groups
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in regional planning, civil or structural engineering, or a related field; Professional Engineer registration in California is required for Senior Engineer applicants
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in planning or engineering supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems, with at least two years in a supervisory role
- Proven experience in project management, ensuring delivery within timelines and budgets
- Knowledge of current trends in regional planning, transportation systems management, and ITS systems engineering
- Experience in budget development, cost-benefit analysis, and preparing technical reports and policy recommendations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience administering grant programs and preparing grant applications and reports
- Familiarity with federal and state laws related to transportation policies and capital projects
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences
- Experience in monitoring program performance and analyzing outcomes
- Proficiency in Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) related to resource planning and project milestones
