      Job Description:

      The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for network architecture and providing the technical lead in all network related projects and support activities.


      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Address and manage telephone, email and in-person inquiries from employees, supervisors and other HR Team me Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
      • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
      • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access
      • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
      • Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed
      • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects

      Ideal Candidate Profile:

      • A.A., A.A.S., or higher college degree in a technical field AND
      • 3 or more years of relevant job experience.
      • Relevant job experience is described as technical support role (i.e.: NOC, IT Helpdesk or Service Desk)
      • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a network support role
      • Experience of network monitoring software.
      • In depth knowledge of core TCP/IP networking skills, routing and switching (Juniper/Cisco)
      • Previous experience of working in an SLA-driven operation environment (ideally ISP based)
      • Good understanding of IP and/or Optical networks to include IPv4, IPv6, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, VLANS, Ethernet, DWDM, SDH, Dark Fiber, DNS, SNMP, and IPSec
      • JNCIA or CCNA certification or equivalent skill level developed through industry experience is preferred
      • Experience of shift work 24x7x365

      • Ability to work on rotating shifts and/or on-call rotations

      Hours/Travel/Shift:

      • 24x7x365 Work Shift
