What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Open and close academic facilities, ensuring readiness for classes and events
- Set up and break down classrooms and various educational activities and events
- Manage the setup of audio equipment, lighting fixtures, and video equipment for classes and events
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for faculty and students during academic activities
- Perform regular inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment in academic facilities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- A degree in media, recording, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of audio, video, and lighting equipment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a complex academic setting
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with live performance lighting, video, and sound is highly preferred
- Knowledge of basic video systems and live sound is a significant advantage
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural sensitivity in communication
