What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the primary customer contact in the Collection Services Bureau, assisting taxpayers and debtors
- Handle inquiries from customers and contracted private collection partners via telephone and written correspondence
- Resolve delinquent tax and state agency debts in accordance with established contact center standards
- Utilize collection systems to update and retrieve account information related to delinquent accounts
- Process work queues generated by collection systems to ensure timely response to customer inquiries
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school
- One year of experience responding to customer inquiries and resolving problems for the Treasury Customer Service Representative 6 level
- Two years of experience for the Treasury Customer Service Representative 7 level, including one year equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 6
- Three years of experience for the Treasury Customer Service Representative E8 level, including two years equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 6 or one year equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 7
- Ability to perform work in the state of Michigan; relocation required for non-residents

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management software
